I adore figs. They are one of the best late summer treats. My Grandmother Baxter (Annie, for whom I am named) had a fig tree in her yard, right outside of her kitchen window. Visiting her, and that tree, when the figs were ripe for the picking is one of my favorite memories of her. We ate them fresh off the tree or in her yummy, homemade preserves.
I found some ripe, organic figs at Trader Joe's on Monday. Mixed those with feta, chicken, and arugula from the Dupont Fresh Farm Market. Then tossed it all with Laconiko Extra Virgin Olive Oil from The Cookery and Maldon salt.
