Seller Net Proceeds

When thinking about selling your home, one of the first questions most people have is

"what will my proceeds be?"

There are a lot of variables to consider with pricing your home and calculating proceeds. Using the tool below, you can gain a rough indication of what your proceeds might be. This tool is provided only to give you a general idea, it is not a true estimate or a guarantee. I collect no data from this form, neither do the partners who created this widget for me.

When you are ready to talk further, I welcome the opportunity to work through this spreadsheet with you.

*This an estimation tool, not a guarantee of associated costs or proceeds.

*In the District of Columbia real estate taxes are paid semi annually on an October fiscal year in arrears.  Therefore, it is likely that the seller will be required to pay pro-rated real estate taxes from the beginning of the fiscal half up until the date of closing.

* If seller is not U.S. tax payer it is likely that there will be a withholding of 10% of the sales price of the property which will be remitted to the IRS to establish an escrow to pay any capital gains tax that might be due.
