Spring's Snow
There is just something about those cherry blossoms. They are, of course, a love. Not just mine, but the whole world's.
Tourists, suburbanites and DC proper residents alike come out in droves to see them. Photograph them. Picnic under them. It doesn't matter how long you've lived here, each year, a visit to see them, in all of their glory, is a must. While the ritual repeats each year, I typically try to find a new spot from which to gaze and take photos. There are the many vantage points from the Mall, but there are also dozens of gardens, parks, neighborhoods, and secret places to find the beauties.
I love winter and I celebrate a good snow story. But, come March, I want snow of a different kind--beautiful petals raining down.
