Coined "Baby Chasers" Boomers Move South to be with Grandchildren

Moving to the Sun Belt is nothing new for Seniors. Many become "snowbirds" splitting their time by being up north in the Summer and migrating to a warmer client in the Winter. Outdoor activities like pickle ball, golf, and tennis are main attractions. Yet something else is standing out as a "migration accelerator"--their grandchildren.

Zonda, a housing research firm, releases an annual Baby Chaser Index that ranks cities based on increases in residents aged 25 to 44 and 60 to 79. In the previous year, Austin, Texas; Charleston, South Carolina; and Jacksonville, Florida, led the rankings.
