Here are my picks for things to do in Washington DC for the weekend of March 27 through the 29th.
The city is in full bloom so make sure you get out and take a peak.
In light of that the Blossom Kite Festival is taking place on Saturday from 10-4pm at the National Mall. Bloom Fest opens at the Title Basin on March 27. This festival of features, music, cultural performances, and something of the best view of the cherry blossoms in the city.
March Madness hits, DC. Capital One Arena will host the Sweet 16 and Elite 8 games throughout the weekend.
National Gallery of Art is launching a major new insulation as part of the Celebrating American Art series. Titled "American Story" it explores iconic works that grapple with the American narrative from the colonial era to the 20th century.
The National Museum of Women in the Arts highlights the contributions of female artist with focused exhibits. Check out Ruth Orkin's Women on the Move exhibit. This photo journalism exhibit, documenting women, breaking gender, roles has its final days this weekend.
The Phillips Collection featuring a major international exchange---Miro and the United States. This exhibition traces a dialogue between Spanish artist Miro and American icons like Johnson Pollock and Alexander Calder.
